Video Transcript

"Hi, my name is Jordan Dahl, and we're talking about advanced floor gymnastics. Now, in this series we're going to be talking about your mindset, really emphasizing why that is important, especially now that you are in advanced tumbling and advanced floor gymnastics. We're going to talk about some other warm ups and drills that you can work on, we're also going to talk about floor routines as well as your competition schedule as competition rolls around. We'll be covering a lot of advanced skills which can really boost your routine and give it that added difficulty level that can really help you out. Now the beauty of advanced gymnastics is that it's where everything comes together and you can start to really have a lot of fun with it. In basic gymnastics we covered really just the fundamentals of stretching and your basic positioning. In intermediate, we kind of got started with your beginning tumbling sequences and now you can really start to put everything together, really becoming creative with it and really starting to love what you're doing. This is where you can really start to express yourself. It's where, if you've trained properly, you can perform in front of a crowd and really impress the, really take their breath away. It's also important to really love what you're doing. I'll talk about this later, but I have some students who you know, they enjoy gymnastics, but they are more in it for their parents, they parents are forcing them into it. And while they have the talent, they just don't have that spark that can really make a huge difference. So as you're training you really want to make sure that you really are loving what you are doing. "
