" Hi! I am Joe Palanzo of the World Wide Kenpo Karate Association on Expert Village, I welcome you. The technique that I just demonstrated is called snapping twig and it is really a defense against someone doing a direct push…a direct push is on this side versus a crossing push. And the main principle here is, as he hyperextends his arms pushing me I take to take advantage of that. By trapping at the wrist and striking right above the elbow joint to sprain or dislocate. So that is our first move, generally that is all you need. In this case, we are going to continue, coming over the top we are going to change its height zone by pulling diagonally down into my right to help keep from getting hit with his hand, as I use my left hand to chop to his throat. Although you can use the hand as he punches to pick this up here. So the first two moves was this. I am now going to check this arm and strike diagonally to the temple, the eyes and the bridge of the nose. And you notice the angle is going this way so again if you would punch this picks it up. So the first three moves, now I am going to drop this hand on to protect the low zone. You can also strike low if you needed to bring him forward; and I am going to close distance by shuffling forward. We call this a step drag to the inside of his line, as I hit with the elbow to the left side of his jaw and a heel punch smash to the right. If you do this simultaneously, the effect is double the force of either of the blow separately, so the four moves were one, two, three, four, I have added a few extra moves, just for insurance. This was snapping twig. "
