" Hi, I’m Jim from Zoar Outdoor on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this segment we’re going to be talking about fishing gear and especially fly fishing. Now that we have discussed the general links and functions of fly rods, let me point out something at the outset here that’s really important, and that is when you’re not using your fly rod you should protect it. It’s a precious instrument and believe it not you’ll develop a relationship with it and become very fond of it. 90% of the fly rods that go back to manufacturers for repair are because they were broken because they weren’t put away and secured after using them. So I strongly encourage you to get into the habit of slipping your fly rod into its protective tube immediately after you’ve finished using it. It’s a really simple affair, it’s quite intuitive, but the key is to always put your rod away, wipe it down with a cloth if it’s been wet from fishing, and slip every piece into its protective cloth just as I’m doing here. Fold it up, roll it up it fits very nicely in here, slip it into its tube and now you can see its very conveniently protected, cap on and she’s good to go and well protected. "
