"Hi! I’m Jim Dowd at Zoar Outdoor for Expert Village to talk with you about fly casting and fly fishing. And when you reach the bead head, make 3 turns with the thread to latch that down 1, 2, and 3 and then at the end of the third wrap, this is important material control. Let the bobbin and the thread hang from the bottom of the hook, raise your material to the top of the hook and clip it off with your scissors. This way you will avoid cutting your tying thread. The next step to take is what is called a hackle pliers, grasp the stem, separate your materials, and then just very slowly smoothly, carefully wrap the chicken feather up the length of the body, and even turns right up to the front. Holding it up above the hook you make 1, 2 and 3 turns and let the bobbin hang as we did before. Cut the material from the top of the hook and now your fly is almost done. "
