Series Summary

The sport of water skiing dates back to 1922 when Ralph Samuelson put two boards on his feet and used a clothesline to drag himself behind a boat on Lake Pepin in Lake City, Minnesota. In 1966, the American Water Ski Association began to thrive and the sport of water skiing began to grow more and more popular amongst the leisure and middles class of America. With different forms of water skiing, such as trick skiing and slalom skiing, water skiing has become a popular American past time all over.

In this free video series, watch as professional water skier Jay Browder teaches how to water ski for beginners. Learn how to choose skis, how to choose life jackets for adults and children, how to install ski rope, how to toss rope from boat, how to balance on water skis, how to fall properly, and safety hand signals when in the water. There's no reason to stay inside on a beautiful day, find a lake, a boat, water skis, rope, life jackets, and party people ready to have a good time and go water skiing.
