"Hi, this is Jeff Wilkins on behalf of Expert Village. Now, our next step is to go forward up to where the wing is tied in. Now, you can tie the wing or the tail in any sequence that you want. I find it's helpful to do the tail first, then the wing. It gives me a better working area. The tail's already in place, makes it easier to work around. We're going to take the sparkly an antron, we're going to measure that just like I did the tail and make it to begin with just a little longer, we can actually trim it later. I'm going to hold it. I'm going to do the same pinch I did for the tail. I'm going to open up my fingers, pinch the hook shank, the tail and eventually the thread at the top, so we're pinching all three things and that allows the material to stay on top, rather than roll over, which is a common problem in fly tying, is getting materials that are bulky like this yarn to stay on top of the hook shank. Once it's tied in, from the tie in point, I'm going to wrap backwards toward the tail about five or six, maybe as many as eight turns. Then I'm going to trim the excess off, trim it at an angle. I'll cover that trimmed in area with tie in thread. One thing that will make a big difference in the body is if you make that area as neat as you can. You want to have it fairly neat, not lumpy. That will make the finished body a lot smoother and it will look a lot better."
