"In this segment of how to cure your slice and hook the ball I'd like to make one major point. And that is that hooks go further than slices. I'm not sure why. Because, if a lefty hits a slice, that's a righty hook. Why doesn't it go further? I don't know the scientific reason and you might. Let me know. But I do know this. Number one, I know hooks go further than slices. If you hit a 7 iron and slice it and then hit a 7 iron and hook it, that hook is going further. And, you can actually feel that. If you take your hand and slap yourself in the arm, now, from everything we've said, a slice, it's going this way with an open club face. Go like this and just slice like that. Then, we know that a hook is like this. Now hook. I don't know if you can hear it. I guarantee the hook was so much more solid than the slice. A slice is a glancing blow. It puts so much side weak spin. But, a hook, it almost grabs it a little bit and throws it and spins it with less under spin. I'm not saying it gives top spin, but hooks go further than slices. So, whatever you hit from the 150 yard marker, if you are slicing the ball, let's say you're hitting a 6 iron, I guarantee, you're going to be hitting a 7 iron because hooks go further than slices. When you're playing tennis and you want to hit a slice to that right hand corner, you know how it floats and goes like that. But, if you want to hit a hook to that left hand corner. In hockey a slice into that upper right hand corner. A hook, boom, into that lower left hand corner. Those are great images. It's great to hook the ball. Because everyone loves hitting the ball further and hooks go further than slices."
