"The name of this segment is, "Don't major on minors." And basically what that means is that you can't think about little things and ignore the big things. Even if the little thing works for a little while, you still have to think about the big thing. For example, let's say you're on the course and you have trouble hitting the nail in straight. You're bending it this way and hitting it to the right. You're bending it that way and hitting it to the left. You're not playing well, and you're not happy. But then you find out that if you slow down a little bit, you start hitting the ball straight. You would be hitting that nail straight in. Just by slowing down. This has happened 12 million times. I know because I keep count. What the person does next is, they think, "Well, I don't have to think about the nail anymore. Now, all I have to think about is slowing down." They're majoring on the minor thing. And this is what happens. "Oh, I'll slow down and I'll hit the nail in straight automatically." And, boom! It works! And boom, it works! They're not thinking about the nail anymore. They're only thinking about swinging slower. But, I'll tell you one thing, the next day they're going to think, "All I have to do is swing slower." And they hit it crooked, and they hit it crooked, and they hit it crooked. And, what happens next? Do they go back thinking about the nail? No. Because now they say, "The nail doesn't work," even though they weren't thinking about it. Then they think about their arm, their head, they try this theory, that theory, and the next thing you know they're on the side of the road with a sign that says, "Will golf for food." Don't major on minors and that means, yes, you can think about slowing down. Yes, you can think about turning more or shifting your weight more or something along those lines, if you're playing poorly. But, you always have to think about the nail with it. So, you would say, "I'm going to swing slowly and hit the nail straight in." Or, whatever you include with it. Don't major on minors! The major thing, hit that nail straight in and then if you want to add a little something to it, you could."
