"In this segment I'm going to talk about the baseball grip. For those of you that just saw the ten finger grip and think that it's the same. Actually, it's quite different especially in the spelling. One starts with a T the other one starts with a B. Hooked on Phonics. The main difference is in a ten finger grip, you're left thumb is on the club. A baseball grip, just like you would hold a baseball bat, you're left thumb is on the side of the club and that really is quite a difference. One of things that that does, if you don't have very much wrist hinge on your back swing sometimes having that thumb there limits it. But if you take that thumb and put it here it makes it much easier to hinge. That stops it, that lets it hinge. So, that's one advantage. Another advantage is for the baseball players out there who really like the feel of a baseball bat, and in some ways it also gives you more power and if you don't think so, hold a baseball bat with your thumb there and just feel how much power you have, and then put your thumb like a baseball bat and hit it. You're going to hit the ball harder, further with a baseball bat and a baseball with that thumb around. I'm not suggesting that you do that, but I am suggesting that while you're out experimenting give it a try. Try the baseball grip, that is just the way you would hold a baseball bat, with that left thumb around, and go ahead. Hit a low pitch to center field."
