" Hi! I am Jason Wyatt, head golf professional at Sunnydale Golf & Country Club and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am here to show you today how to properly fix a divot. I am going to set up here and hit a little flop shot to the green, so I set up and I hit the golf ball. Once I have hit the golf ball, you see I have taken out some turf; this is what we call a divot. So what I am going to do is hop over here for a second, we are going to grab the piece of turf and we are going to bring it back to our divot. This is exactly what I have hit out. Now what we must do is make sure that we replace this the exact same way as it came out. So I place this like a jigsaw puzzle, right into its proper spot. Now what we are going to do is we are going to step on it and make sure that when the grass starts to grow the roots grab into the ground. What we see is a lot of is people that don’t fix these divots. So they hit the shot, the divot pops out and they leave it like this; you see this a lot. What happens here is it just ruins the opportunity for the next person behind you to have an opportunity to have a good playing surface. So please make sure after you hit a great shot like that, we want to make sure we put the turf back in, step on it, so we create a leveled playing surface for everybody. "
