"Alright, so in this next step of learning how to roll with your friend we are going to use a paddle float. What I like to do is take folks through a whole roll. Just so they can see what it feels like. You may not know what you're doing, but with a paddle float and a friend it's easy to do. There are some key points though. First, we are going to have them set up; as we call it. That is, just put the paddle parallel on this side. We are going to turn the blade up. Power faces up. Now, when you roll with a paddle float it likes to pull against you, so I hold on to it to keep it from sinking; like this. I have a good grip on it. Now, I just ask Russell here to roll over and then I'm going to pull his paddle around. He'll come up. Just hold on tight and trust me. Capsize. Now, roll up, I take that paddle and up they come. Make sure you are holding onto their paddle and they'll come up. How did that feel Russell? Wonderful, absolutely wonderful."
