"In this clip the next basic stroke is the reverse sweep, which obviously is the opposite of the forward sweep. Russell is going to start and place his paddle at the stern. This is where he begins. Notice that the paddle is parallel to the boat and his arms are fairly straight. He submerges the stern paddle in the water, pushes out as far as he can reach, and comes forward as far as he can reach. This is a reverse sweep stroke. Now, what we can do is we can combine the forward and the reverse and this will be a 360. This is how you would turn your boat around. We combine the forward sweep with the reverse sweep. There is the forward and the reverse. He is tilting his boat slightly so he can turn sharply."
