Another great way to open the shoulders is through gomokoseno or elbows bent above the head. So what you want to do is take the right arm lift it up toward the ceiling and let the elbow bend and the hand go down between your shoulder blades down your back. If for any reason you have any neck issues past surgeries anything disk issues let the arm stay slightly out from behind the head. Take the opposite arm the left arm grab the elbow and pull the palm down your back. Then take that top arm the left arm and bring it around and clasp the fingers of the hand that's already down your back. If for any reason you can't reach your finger tips what you'll want to do is take and put a strap in your hand and then pull elbow back up and then reach around and grab the strap and then slowly walk the fingers up the strap pulling the shoulders open and as you get more comfortable you can let that elbow drop open and the shoulders drop down and back. Then you can repeat this to the other side bringing the arm up and down and then over and then scoop the arm around. Hold both sides for about thirty seconds which is usually about six to eight slow breaths. And that's how you do gomokosena to open the shoulders.
