"JASON SHERIDAN: On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Jason Sheridan for Sheridan Fencing Academy here in New York City. Today, we'll be talking about beginning sabre fencing. Fleche is very important to create an explosive kind of movement potentially and along with that, we can pair it with a jump to make a jump fleche. When I'm making my jump fleche, I'm making sure that I bounce from the jump into the fleche. Note again, I'm starting very relaxed, front foot comes first, both feet land together, and I go right into the fleche. Watch it one more time. It's very easy when doing this explosive movements to find yourself tensing up and your back stiffens, your shoulder stiffens, when this happens, you're going to compromise your ability to surprise your opponent. If you can't surprise your opponent, you can't hit your opponent. Notice as you do it, you're going to see very loose. Even if it means going little slower at first, practice being loose."
