"JASON SHERIDAN: On behalf of Expert Village, this is Jason Sheridan of Sheridan Fencing Academy here in New York City. Today, we're going to talk about advanced sabre fencing. We can look at our defense in terms of distance. If, for example, we are keeping a close distance, our options in terms of defense can be in general broken down to either hitting in preparation or parry-riposte. There are couple other options but we will just talk about this right now. In this case, you're going to see one fencer, again, changing her preparation, looking to make attack, the other fencer trying to fence in close distance, giving herself the option of parry-riposte or attack in preparation, maybe even a jump back and take over. But just these two things right now. Watch carefully. In this case, she attempted attack in preparation but it was too late. Let's try again. This time, her parry-riposte was successful. We'll do one more. And that was parry-riposte. Bravo."
