" Now, let’s talk about where you can skimboard. You can skimboard where there is sand and water sitting flat, or you can skimboard in the waves. Laguna Beach in California is the prime spot. They have tons of competitions throughout the year there. but maybe you don’t live in California. Maybe you live in Utah, let’s say, and you want to try skimboarding out. Well if you know a lake where the water and the sand meet and it’s nice and there’s not a lot of rocks, you can do it there too. The difference between waves and flat land is waving riding…I mean there’s some waves breaking right by the shore and you can actually ride them as if you were surfing. For flat land, it’s more you’ve got a thin layer of water and you can skimboard across that. Once you do that, it opens more room for tricks and you can even pop out of the water. Now a days, we’re seeing ramps and rails in flat land riding, and it’s really getting a lot of attention, so that’s where you can do it. "
