Removing the Cylinder Pin of a Rome 22caliber Revolver

"First step to getting this broken down, or taken down, is we're going to get right here on the right side of the firearm and we're going to open this loading gate. By opening that loading gate, that's going to let us see inside here. And we're going to come right here to the front of the firearm and you can see this little pin sticking out right here. Now, this pin holds the cylinder in place inside the firearm. Now this is machined so tight that you can't get this out by hand, as you can see. I'm going to push this pin inside here, which is basically, it's a rod lock is what some people like to call it, and you can push this in here, and that should technically release, but you can see it catching right there. So what I'm going to do, is I'm going to take that up, just past the release, and you can see how that pin doesn't go in anymore. I'm going to take a patch and I'm just going to set that over that rod. Now what that's going to do is I'm going to use these pair of pliers here to grab this rod and simply by using the patch, we're going to keep the pliers from marring this rod and keeping some of the overall good looks of this. And so, as you can see, it's catching it and now we're just going to pull it out. Had a little bit of slip there. Put this back, put the patch back on. We're just going to kind of wiggle that out. It's pretty tight, so it may take you a second to do it. And we've got it out here, as you can see, we pretty much got it all the way and some people choose not to take them out, I'm just going to finish taking this thing out all the way. And here we are with our revolver pin retainer. Next, I'm going to show you how to slide out the cylinder itself."
