"Alright we've been letting our parts sit here most of the day. We've got them soaked in with break free and what we're going to do now that the break frees had a good amount of time to set in and do its job. We're going to help it do its job now. You can see I've got my brushes here. I'm going to use these brushes to really scrub loose a lot of this dirt, grit, and grim that the break free has been able to break loose for us. I'm just, on my guide rod here I?m not so much worried about any kind of bluing so I'm actually going to use either my light steel or my light brass brush depending on how dirty I think my guide rod is. Now earlier I didn't feel any or see any dirt coming off my hands so I'm actually just going to use my light brass brush here and I'm just going to work in a stroking motion over the coils of the springs of the guide rod and the recoil spring. Making sure that I get every coil fully. Once I get about half way I'll flip over the guide rod. Which I'm at about half way right now. I'll just flip it over and I'll d the same thing right here on this coil over. Once again I'm going to just spin this in my hands and I'm going to really get that recoil spring cleaned up. These coils on it. And at the same time these bristles are so small that they're kind of getting under these coils and they're really cleaning up this guide rod for us. I'm really going to pay special attention inside here where the recoil spring seats to the back end of the guide rod here. We're really going to take a little bit of time and work that in a circular motion, making sure that we really get that seat cleaned up good. One of the reasons I like to do that, I just feel that with everything driving back that direction that it may push the dirt back that way. Alright now that I've got that scrubbed up I'm just going to kind of look over and I'm just going to kind of feel over with my hands and you can see here I'm actually picking up a little bit of dirt now that we've had that break free sitting most of the day and we put a brush on it. Not a lot, but you can see a little bit of a gray tint from these coils. What I like to do now is I just like to take my fingers here and I like to look over and make sure that I don't feel any excess grit, some abrasive gunk on my finger tips. I just like to go over this, over these coils, and make sure that's not there because if that's there that's and area that I want to know that I want to highlight and actually do a little bit of extra scrubbing. Now I'm not feeling any extra grit so that's pretty good. What I'm going to do now is I'm actually going to move onto the barrel and I'm going to a little bit of scrubbing there."
