He'll show you how to remove the barrel, the lower receiver, the slide, the forearm, the cap, the stock, the guide rod, trigger assembly, the bolt, and bolt face. Jason will also teach you how to clean all these items with break free to remove the gunk and deposits, and then wipe them down to remove excess oils that can damage your guns. Then Mr. Boatwright will teach you how to assemble and safely store your firearm so you can keep it for as long as you want, safely.

We're in sunny Austin, Texas, and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to take down, reassemble, and clean a Springfield XD 9mm handgun. Now a little bit about this handgun. Touch a few of these features here. It's got a rear grip safety, which is for your palm swell; it's got a trigger safety--as you can see its compact here, short grip. But the magazines that even come with the handgun are extended to create a full grip. We're going to take this magazine back out. And so we're going to get to it. So the first thing that we're going to talk about today is what we're going to need to clean, break down, and reassemble this handgun."
