"Okay, now that I talked about what we need. Here's our basic M1. Now I'm holding this up in the air here, we have our action open and you always want to point your firearm in a safe direction. Now what we're going to do first is, we have our action open, but I'm actually going to shut the action just so we know that we can start from step one. Okay, here we are. I pick up the firearm, first things first, I pointing it in a safe direction. Second step I'm going to physically and you can see this notch on the other side of the firearm here, at the front of the trigger assembly. If you would have pressed this on the Benelli, when you pull back your action, it will actually lock the action open into an open position. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to push that in, you hear that click. I'm going to pull back my action here, it's open and now what I'm going to do is just point my shotgun down at the ground in a safe direction and I'm going to physically look inside to make sure there is not a round stuck in the chamber because as you know when you pull back the action abstractor should discharge a cartridge or a shell if it's in there, but we're physically going to stick our fingers in and as we feel we don't see anything in there. We don't feel anything in there and then were gong to turn the shotgun over here and you can see the feed ramp or loading ramp and I'm actually at this point, I'm going to release the shotgun or release the action from itself so I can get inside here and I can make sure that there's no rounds inside the tube and as you can see right here on the right side of the frame this is our action release and if I were to just press this, this actually would slam shut and I don't want to do that. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to put my finger here on my catch and then I'm going to press this button on the other side and you hear that pop and there's my action in free motion. So what I'm going to do now, I'm going to lay my shotgun down, I'm going to flip it up and I'm just going to push in my feeder ramp here and I'm going to look to see if I see any rounds and I don't see any round and you can see right here is your plunger and that's spring loaded because that's what's going to feed your shotgun shells in as you fire. So I'm just going to press in. I don't feel anything, I don't see any round and that right there is our basic firearm safety check to make sure we're unloaded."
