on 1/29/2009 I think Mr. Hall is descriptive enough to get me well started in Tai Chi. Buying books just did not work for me as all they can supply is photos of a starting form, maybe an intermediate form and and an ending form. I have been imitating selected videos of his the last three days and my work outs with the weight machines and resistance bikes at the YMCA have increased in quality and ease. Maybe it is because of the deep breathing part of Tai Chi.

on 8/2/2008 Started out sounding somewhat ignorant. The sandwich comment is odd to say the least. I was glad to hear him use the proper name of taichi chuan and that he understands it is a martial art. I'll watch some of the videos and comment more

Video Transcript

"Really any kind of motion can be done as Tai Chi. It doesn't have to be the Swan Landing on the Water form or the Snaking Crane form for it to be qualified as Tai Chi. You can imagine movements of making a sandwich so long as you time your hand movements with the movements of making the sandwich, that is Tai Chi. Tai Chi Chwon directly translated means Grand Ultimate Boxing. It is a system of martial arts that has all of the blocks and strikes of a regular martial art like hard style Karate or Kung Fu but it is at a softer approach. Very relaxed and low impact but just as equally as effective if you are a good practitioner. "
