" Hi, I'm Jason Jeannette with Elite Martial Arts of Middle Tennessee here on behalf of Expert Village. This is defense against knife threat to the trachea. Alright, this is a threat to the trachea. It's an extremely dangerous position. Once again, always expect to be cut; it's just a matter o how badly. Here's what I'll do, if they'll allow me, (put my) hands up. I want to relax this guy with a knife to my throat. I want him to be as relaxed as possible. Please. So hands up, being compliant, "listen, buddy, I'll give you anything you want..." Let's give ourselves a trigger word. Now, without moving, I'm bringing ... here ... I'm just ... I could almost knock it away; like that. (That was fantastic, maybe that's a new one.) But really what I want to do is control. I don't want to get fancy smancy with this. So I'm just reaching up, hitting this, I just want to control this most of all. The knife's only dangerous if it's moving. The other thing, I'll reach up and pull this in and down just to pull him off balance. I might have pulled him into me or looking at me, try the head butt, groin kicks, but most of all I'm controlling his whole forearm here. I'll take the back of the blade, push it and catch it and ... mine."
