on 7/21/2009 The technique does work, but you have to take some things into consideration. Hight is one, if your opponent is too tall, or too short you may have trouble, but you can make it work.

Experience is also important, if you do not have much dojo time and training, you may not be able to get certain techniques to work.

You also must be willing to switch techniques if someting is not working, because not every technique will work for everyone.

Great video though, these guys did a great job.

"JASON JEANETTE: Hi. I'm Jason Jeanette. This is Daniel Klapheke from Elite Martial Arts of Middle Tennessee for Expert Village. DANIEL KLAPHEKE: This is an escape from a standing rear naked choke. In this situation, we're going to assume we already screwed up. They got us from behind. We didn't do anything to prevent that, 'cause that's the first thing we do is make sure no one gets behind us. So, let's say he gets me in a rear naked choke. I can feel that his right arm is coming around and doing the actual choking, and the left arm is just kind of holding it in. So I know that his left elbow should be right here and his hand should on top of my head if he's doing this correctly, okay? 'Cause this is the one that I want to work with, the one that's not putting the pressure on me. As I get a good grip, I'm going to push back with my head and my upper body as I push the elbow through around holding on his elbow and his wrist. And from this position, I've got all types of followups I could use to end the fight. MAN: And action."
