"Hi, I'm Jason Jeannette with Elite Martial Arts of Middle, Tennessee, here on behalf of Expert Village. Alright, here we go. Empty hand versus stick. This will be evade and control, which means I'm going to be outside of the range of the swing or I'm going to put myself outside the range of the swing. Alright, here we go. This would be a situation where I am ready. I'm in a ready position. I've got somebody with a club. And apparently, I've got nowhere to run because that's what I would do if someone's swinging a club at me, unless I'm just protecting another person. So, he swings. He's very angry. He's giving me an over-committed swing. I'm going to get outside the range because this stick is only dangerous in this arc right here. He cracks me on the head here. It's very dangerous here. Inside not dangerous. Outside not dangerous. We'll talk about the other range in just a minute. So he swings and they kind square out. And I want to take advantage of his over-committed swing and jam this to his hips. And just start running at him. Punches, punches, punches, side clinch, throw a knee to his face and/or his hand to get him to drop that stick. If he doesn't, I will wait until I know he's compliant, take the stick and now it's mine, give him one more shot and get away."
