"When you paddle on the river, you don't want to paddle alone. You should be paddling with other people. At least 2 other people is a great group, or just you and your buddy, but you wan to keep each other in mind. When I'm paddling with a large group, I want to make sure somebody's lead and somebody's sweep, somebody's in front of the group, somebody's in back of the group to help make sure the group stays together because you don't want to leave anyone behind. There is a bit that sometimes groups get too big and then it gets to congested on the river with that group, but you'll have to pick and choose and figure out what size group works for you. If you do have 3 people in your group, if somebody does get hurt, one person can go out for the help while the other person stays with that person, so it's a good number to keep in mind. I never want to paddle alone because I want to make sure that first of all, it's a fun sport, I want to enjoy with people. That's why I got into paddling, so I love paddling with people. We experience some great places around the world. So keep in mind, paddle in a group, keep an eye out for each other, think about what roles you take on the river. If you're a newbie getting on the river with some friends, make sure that you're picking and choosing the rivers that you feel comfortable with. Don't let anyone force you to go on a river you don't fell comfortable with and pick and choose the people that will allow you to do that. Have fun on the river, be safe, and paddle hard."
