Summary: Take a look back into the days of wagons and plantations and learn how American pioneers hunted from a hunting expert in this free dove and quail hunting video.
"Hey. This is Hugo at Expert Village. This segment is on quail hunting and we kind of calling it old fashioned because it's the way people have traditionally hunted quail. A lot of places in the south and southeast hunt like this and basically the pine plantations. The big long lanes with the wire grass are set up so that you can go in and traditionally you would have a horse drawn or mule drawn wagon and the hunters would load up and their guns would be around them and they would have dog boxes on them. Basically you would go out, the dogs are working the field and you would have people on horseback who are monitoring the dogs. When they point a covey of quail they would ride back and get the carriage or the wagon or something and you would progress towards the quail where the dogs are pointing at the covey and then they would get out of the wagon and go and jump shoot the quail and the dogs would retrieve it and you would hunt all day like that. Because it is a very effective way of hunting quail and it's just a really good opportunity to enjoy kind of an old fashioned way. There are a lot of plantations in Florida and Georgia and I know so other states as well that still hunt like this. It's just a great opportunity. If you have a chance to hunt quail like this you need to do it. It's just a fantastic time."
