When to Hunt Dove & Quail

"Hey this is Hugo at Expert Village. This segment is on weather patterns and different weather factors and how they influence how you hunt dove and quail. Now again understand that dove and quail hunting are two different types of hunting and weather certainly affects both of them. One of the best dove hunts I've been on was when we were shooting dove and storm front came through. Right after that storm, and it rained, the dove started pouring in the field trying to feed and they were everywhere. So you need to be kind of watching, you know, what the weather is going to be like. Is it going to be cold? Is it going to be hot? Is it a dry year? Is water going to be something that is really important? Do you need to set up around water? Also knowing how the fronts affect them; for instance quail and dove and different game animals feed a lot of times before a front moves through, before the barometric pressure is starting to fall, just to fill themselves up with food. So anyway, weather does effect what you do. You are going to be hunting dove and quail in the fall/winter time and so you want to know how the weather patterns in the area you are going to be hunting in affects the game animals."
