"Our theme for today is basic pool maintenance. The three fundamentals to maintain your pool, would be our chemistry, our filtration, and our circulation. Our filtration is taken care of by our filter, which needs to be maintained. Just by looking at the PSI on the gauge we'll be able to tell how often it needs to be changed. It's approximately every six months, but depending on the use of the pool -- that's a better gauge of how often you're going to need to change the filter. Your pump is what circulates the water through your pool. If you have a heater or automatic chlorinator, which will help out in your chemistry. We need to keep our pool happy and healthy. At Pool Inspectors our main goal is to maintain and extend the life of our pool and our equipment by always maintaining the water level at a certain level to where it's halfway between the skimmer and the water line. That way we don't allow any air to get into our system. By giving proper maintenance to our swimming pool, we can extend the life of our plaster, our pump, our filter, which is of the utmost importance when you hire a maintenance person or if you do it yourself. You must understand what we're dealing with here. So, one of the main questions that is always asked is how long does my system need to run? And, easy answer to that is approximately one hour for every ten degrees outside. So, if you're in Florida, in the winter time we're about 70-80 degrees, so that would equal about seven to eight hours a day that we need to run our filter. It also depends if you have animals or if your children swim a lot in the pool. Our main goal once again is to keep the water happy and healthy. So, with that point, we're going to go ahead and close this up, and thank you very much from Pool Inspectors."

on 9/10/2009 Wow. Not a whole lot of info here. Liquid acid, tabs or granular? Is that tabs acid and granular acid, or chlorine tablets and granular chlorine?
