"Hi, this Francisco Cales, Tampa Florida, with Pool Inspectors, on behalf of Expert Village. Our theme for today is basic pool maintenance. This section we are going to go ahead and brush the floor, the walls, the steps, and the swim out. We are going to be using an 18 inch brush with nylon brittles on it. When you brush the steps to the pool, you are going to go ahead and knock it down into the pool. If you don't have an automatic cleaner in your pool, you are going to want to go ahead and push all the debris as much possible into the shallow end, into the deep end. As you're cleaning your steps, you want to go ahead and use swift movements. Start from your steps and the purpose of knocking down the dust and brushing the walls, is also so that any algae which is growing on your walls can be knocked down or softened. And using the proper chemistry in your chemicals, you will be able to kill any micros which will grow in your pool. As you make your way around the pool, if you see any certain spots or steps which are collecting dirt, you may have to adjust your returns in your water to get a better filtration. And if you go in about a thirty degree angle on your walls, you will be able to continuously walk around the pool and brush the walls down."
