"Ok, this is a continuation of drills we've done, but I'm going to hit a volley to myself. I'm going to hit it crosscourt to Gary, so I want you to watch how the racquet is prepared, how the upper body coils and turns to take the ball, so let's see how we can do it here, Gary, so you notice I turn. I get the racquet up. That one's tough, so I turn. I'm able to get it crosscourt. I intercept it before it hits the wall. We're going to focus on Gary now, so you might not see me in this one. He's going to hit the backhand volley to himself, and then hit it crosscourt to me, so watch how he turns the shoulders, how he steps, how he has the racket up, and turns and hits it. Well that was tough, but Gary picked it up, so watch how he turns. Here you go, Gary. Ok, so that's a very good demonstration though, of what you need to do, as this type of drill will really hone this shot, your straight volley, and change the direction of the ball, so find a partner and work on it."
