"Racquet ready is an unbelievably important concept and so is watching the ball and what I want to go over in this quick segment is racquet ready means keep that racquet up so if you are really serious about becoming a good squash player keep your racquet with you at work, at home or at play and just walk around with it like that because this is the ready position so if you watch a pro tournament, the pros are always like this, they never let the racquet come down here because if the ball comes at them they're not ready so have that racquet ready at all times and that is why during this type of practice you see I keep the racquet up. So the idea is racquet ready and watching the ball is something that is not easy to do because we are not trained to watch the ball but you have to train yourself. So what I want you to think about when you are playing a point is never lose sight of that ball, always watch the ball and if you can do that, and you always keep the racquet ready and you never lose sight of the ball. A lot of people, they hit a ball and then they just watch the front wall like that and then their opponent can drop shot them and do any types of shots like that and then they won't see the ball until it enters their field of vision. So there is no way and if I hit the ball to somebody and I am watching it the whole time I am going to know what they are going to do. So now I know what they are going to do which allows me to know what I'm going to do and if my racquet is ready I am in a much better position to do something. So I want you to always think, I may be kidding you, but walk around the house with your racquet and always watch the ball when you practice, always watch the ball, keep your racquet ready and you will be doing a lot better."
