"OK, the drop shot. So let's say I've got a ball on the front court here, and I'm going to hit a drop shot. So my opponent has put a ball here, so you see I come to the ball, I open the face of the racquet and I basically slice at it, which produces a bit of under spin. Now I have to get down low. See, if I want to hit a good drop shot and I'm too tall and I come down on the ball, it's going to pop it up. Cause that's how, when you take the racquet like that, it pops it up. So I'm going to have to get down low so I can come underneath the ball and put it right above the tin. So that's really the idea here is, when I see a ball, if my opponent, for example, has hit a boast and I want to hit a drop shot off that boast. So if they hit a ball like that, so you see my goal is to get the ball right above the tin and if I do that with proper under spin, the ball's going to hit and it's going to track toward the nick. So that's the best result of all, is I get a ball and it goes right into the nick. Cause then I can win the points outright. So the forehand drop volley, I mean, drop shot is a quite important shot to have. Now one of the things to work on is not to get too close to the ball or the wall. So if I'm right here, this is, I can reach every shot from this far away. So remember we had talked in earlier segments about the box within the box. So if I have a ball, I don't need to get any closer. And you don't want to tin it, but you don't need to get any closer. So you want to use the, you want to open the face and go right underneath the ball. And that's a good drop shot."
