"Okay, the backhand volley, a very important shot in squash. Once again, I cannot, I cannot overestimate or over emphasize the keeping the racket up. It's so important because if the racket is not up, you're going to be pushing at the ball. So you want to keep the racket up so now you use gravity as you turn. So you can see if the racket head is up as I turn, the racket head falls a little bit, and you hit, you come underneath the ball giving it a little bit of a loft. So the backhand volley is all under spin and it's based on this pulling motion. I pull, so you can see I'm pulling the handle, which then causes this to accelerate and to come out there. So one of the main problems that most players and their volleys, is they hit the ball too close to the body because they're pushing at it. So you, you want to look at your shot, where it's coming, and you want to get away from it. So if I get a ball there, so if the ball's coming at me, I step, I step away from it and then I turn on it. Okay, if the ball's away from me, I'm going to step across and take it. But the idea is that you want to open the face. Whether I want to hit an attacking shot, so I might hit the ball down. And if I want to hit a deep volley, I might come more underneath it, which would give it more loft. But the idea is that keep the racket head up, turn, throw the frisbee, pull, that's how you hit a backhand volley."
