"Hi, Glenn Soanes for expertvillage.com. One of the things we want to think about before we start bowling is some of the dangers associated with being in the environment we’re in. You’ll see caution signs all over the bowling alley, they’re there for your protection. You’ll see one at the foul line, the lanes are oiled they’re very slippery. Should a ball become lodged on the lane for some reason, call on the people who are working at the bowling alley to help you so that you don’t end up hurting yourself. When the balls come back they roll on to the ball return rest for you to pick them up. There’s a rotating belt in here that will take off fingers, from a stand point you came in with 10, you’d like to leave with 10 and probably the management would like you to leave with 10. When you come to go bowl, the one thing that you want to do is pick up your bowling ball. There’s a proper way to do that so that your fingers don’t end up getting crushed, the bowling balls weigh from anywhere from 6 to 16 pounds. What you want to do is pick up the ball, two hands on either side, bring the ball up to you, at that point you can step forth onto the lanes and be ready to bowl. "
