"One of the other aspects of rule six has to do with discontinuance of play and that is significant in Oklahoma because we have storms that could pop up in a very short period of time. When you have a discontinuance of play because of let's say darkness the rules specifically applies and it tells you what to do to stop play that day. If you have begun play on a hole you may finish play of that hole and then stop play. On the other hand a discontinuance of play for a hazardous condition, and in most obvious example of that is lighting. When the community sounds the horn to discontinue play for lighting or other dangers conditions it is imperative that you stop immediately and that means leave the course right now. You don't have to go pick up your golf ball because the rules specifically provides that the ball could remain there and if you go back after play and resume and the ball is missing you may replace the ball, or quite often you see that the ball is perhaps moved by when it rained you are entitled to replace the ball before you resume play. Quite often you see that the ball is left exactly where you were when you left the course and you won't have to take any steps replacing the ball. "
