Series Summary

A putt is a shot designed to roll the ball along the ground. It is normally made on the putting green using a putter, though other clubs may be used to achieve the same effect in different situations. Putting is very individualistic and many different putting strokes, stances, and styles have been used over the years. Many golfers disregard the motto, "Drive for show, putt for dough" but putting is usually about one half of all the strokes in an average round of golf. One of the fastest ways to improve your golf game is to improve your putting.

In this free golf video series, a golf instructor will help improve your putting game. He will review the putting grip, stance, and importance of putting as well as review the various types of putts including sidehill, uphill and downhill putts. He will also give you some drills to improve your putting and get you on the road to lower scores and winning your weekly golf matches.

"Okay, we're going to cover putting. Putting is the easiest way to gain a lot of strokes or to lose a lot of strokes. So, if you're thinking about putting in terms of the total game of golf, it might not be what many consider the highest skill, but it gets the highest return. So, you can hit a three hundred yard drive, but if can't putt very well, you won't score very well and if you don't hit three hundred yard drives, but you get the ball in the green and can putt excellently, you can beat a lot of players. So, what we're going to focus on, is I want you just to learn how to; There's a lot of different putting strokes, so I'm not going to say that there's only one way to putt. So, I want you to think that there's many ways to putt and to find your style. But you've got to put a little bit of time on the greens so you can become expert at this. So, putting is a great place for you to really work on your scoring and it builds your confidence when know you can putt. So, let's get to it."
