"Now, for this drill, you want to start with about four or five balls. Give yourself about 50 feet of green to work with. Now what I have here, the purpose of this is, is to get that feel from inside of you out. Get it down and directed toward the club head. Now, a lot of people don't believe me when I do this, but everytime I ask someone to hit the ball six feet in front of them, they always hit it quite a bit further. But if you can get pretty close, the point of this exercise here is not just to gain a feel but give yourself confidence and know that you already have it. Now to set my first ball up, I have to hit all four of these between here and that cup. Every ball, every second ball, has to go further than the previous one. You want to change your angle here a little bit just to make sure that you're not giving yourself the chance of hitting the other balls that you already hit. And you notice, the only thing I'm changing here is actually the length of my backswing. My speed, the speed that I take the club back and follow through, is pretty similar. I always follow through long basically maintaining that acceleration. I have two balls to the left, and I have to hit both of them further than past the previous. Now, I left myself very little faith to get this last one down there, but I think I did it. You notice, this is how I show people they have feel. It's not so much that I knew to hit this six feet, or to hit this one fifteen feet. It's actually, if you come over here to the side, you'd be able to see that each one of these balls is almost equal distance apart. Except for this last one of course, I didn't leave myself much room, but I wanted to stay short of that pin. And that's the starting feel, okay."
