"Hello my name is Geoff Sterling of Hollywood Soo Bahk Do. The hook I am going to show you now is the hook kick. Unlike most kicks that I have shown you this far this is more of a circular kick. A lot o the kicks that I have showed you have been linear meaning the kicks usually move in a straight line and go this way, he side kick going right towards you and this is more of a circular kick that goes around. Also if you remember before I showed you a roundhouse kick. This hook kick is very similar to a roundhouse kick. Basically you take everything that is in a roundhouse kick and you make it the exact opposite so instead of coming around this way like that you are going to hook and you are actually going to move in the opposite and your hit is going to come in at the other direction. It is very deceiving though because actually past the beginning is a sidekick. It comes in this way then out and around the back. So to demonstrate how this trick is effective and how you could use it to deceive somebody in letting their guard down I am going to demonstrate right now on Muhumad Husan a fellow practitioner of Hollywood Soo Bahk Do. So right now for instance if I throw my leg out to do a side kick or a roundhouse kick this way he is going to move his guard over here because he thinks it is coming around this way so I'll show you. So I am here, notice that, see the opening on the other side so what I can do is take my leg that way and come around. So that would be a way that he could use it. So to show you in full motion here this would be a hook kick. That right there was a demonstration of a hook kick. Thank you for watching. "
