"Hello I am Geoff Sterling with Hollywood Soo Bahk Do. Now I am going to show you a jumping back kick. This is an exercise that you can practice but it is going to be a little difficult at first. It consists of jumping in the air and doing a 180. It is just being this way, stance is pretty open, jumping, basically you are going to jump forward as you spin backwards so jump back, like that. You are going to pivot clockwise so you are like this here. I am going to show you from this angle now. This way, so one you get that down you are going to add a back kick to it. You are going to wind and jump. Now we are going to emphasize the close and the open, emphasize the breathing, make sure you kia. You are going to have your toes pointed towards the floor and you are going to hit with the heel. So as you are this way right here with a kind of open stance, say there is an attack coming at you, you are going to retreat and you are going to put up your arms in case he gets in there and block it. So you are this way here and shielding yourself. You are going to pivot your head around, look back, you are going to do the same back kick and also you are going to do this in the air. To show it again in regular motion would be like this. Now I am going to demonstrate the application so again here is my partner. He is going to throw a roundhouse kick or a reverse punch. What I am going to do right now is kind of look like I am answering the phone and shield it and block it, I am going to pivot my head around and I am going to lay into him with the heel, I am going to kind of fly this way. A common mistake people make is they want to jump that way and retreat but to really get some power with your kick you want to jump towards them even though your back is turned. Again in slow motion. I am going to do it again and this time at regular speed. That move that you just saw was a Jumping Back Kick. Thank you. "
