"Hello I am Geoff Sterling of Hollywood Soo Bahk Do. Now I am going to show you the roundhouse kick. First off it is very easy to understand and a roundhouse kick means the foot and the leg is going to come around and you are going to pivot this way, spin, and retract and come back. An analogy could be of a chair right here and you are not going to let your knee hit that chair. There is quit a bit of flexibility because you are going to come out this way and rotate on the heel as you might notice and expand out, turn and come back again. Also with the roundhouse kick it can be opened and closed which means that your body first off as it rotates this way can be really open, see I am kind of expanded while it is coming around and now when I strike I am closed and then opened again. So to show you that with regular speed I will demonstrate like this. That would be a kick to the body or a kick to the head. I will show you with the bag from this angle. Also as with the first front kick I showed you you are going to hit with the ball of the foot. You are going to curl your toes back and hit this way from the side. It is going to look like this. With that roundhouse kick you might want to condition your foot a little bit before you do it because it will hurt at first. Because you are putting a lot of power into a short surface area it is going to inflict more damage. I will show you from another angle with my left leg coming around. That was a close range roundhouse kick. Thank you. "
