"A T-rescue is a rescue technique that you can use if you've got someone who is cooperative and they also know that T-rescue is may be coming in a situation. It is good if you are on a long and continuous river guiding people with experience or with your friends and they know that you may be there for a rescue or if you are dealing with students and people that you are helping learn to roll in easy rapids. It is not something that you want to rely on in all situations. As someone expects it and it doesn't come, they could quite easily be washed into somewhere that isn't necessarily safe in the river. What T-rescue is is that the person is going to flip over and the person that is flipped over is going to wait for you to present the bow to the side of their kayak. They often alert you to this by rubbing their hands along the side of the boat so that you can see their hands and you also give them a target so when they can grab onto the boat. It looks a little something like this. At this point, I can paddle up, they are going to find the bow of my boat or intake themselves and then tip themselves back upright. This way they are then able to find their paddle and carry on down the river. "
