"So I talked about the fact that doing a bunnyhop in this manner where you pick up both wheels off the ground at the same time is incorrect. What I didn't explain in any great detail is why and now I'm going to demonstrate why that's the case. Take a look at this water bottle here that I'm going to use as a prop and now think about if your going to try to jump over say a water bottle. In essence if your going to go pick up both wheels at the same time your going to have to try to travel this far over that water bottle to get over it. Which means you have to go a lot faster conversely if your doing a proper 3 motion bunnyhop where you pick up your front wheel you front wheel actually get be over and completely passed that water bottle, then you pick this up so you don't have to go nearly as fast to jump the same object. This comes into play a lot once you start getting into the jumping things that are taller much longer, that there's a certain point where you just can't clear those gaps and jump over those things picking up your bike like that. Another issue the other big issue is that if your bunnyhopping like this you just can't generate at the same type of vertical hop. If you pick up your front wheel you will essentially are freeing up your legs to push off of and that's where you generate most of your vertical hops. So if you pick up your front wheel and you jump and you got a pretty good vertical leap you know you can jump up 3 in some peoples cases where a lot of practice on the proper form even 4 feet. And that's not really depending on the way if your bike or size or anything it really comes down completely to techniques."
