"Another good escape for women's self-defense, is dealing with a single wrist grab. Now, this one is a cross body grab. This is very similar to some of the other techniques we've done, because I'm still going to work the thumb. I have forefingers I can fight with, or I can use the thumb. Now obviously, I can't simply go back, because my hand is not going to fit through this small hole that's been created by the loop on her fingers. Also, I want you to understand, that I'm not really going to fight. Now, that doesn't mean that I'm going to offer active resistance to the attack, but I'm not going to get into a tug of war, where Teresa is grabbing me. She's grabbing me to control. She may be pulling, as opposed to me getting into a fight, and trying to get my hand free. I'm going to deal with just this. That's why these techniques work against anybody, any size, regardless of how big they are. These are not fighting per se, or dealing with the mass of their body. My entire body is focused on that thumb. That's all I need to focus on. My hold body comes up, and I break free. We'll do this side. My hold body comes up, and breaks free. I don't have to worry about how big her arms are, or how fast she can run, or how tall she is, or anything like that, because my whole world is built on her thumb. There's nothing her thumb can do. There's nobody whose thumb is so strong, that your weight can't drop through. So let's try that with Teresa. I'll grab her. Good, grab the other side, and then away, outstanding. That's a good wrist escape for women's self-defense and personal protection."
