"Hook attack once again, let's look at a defensive throw now. As Daniel's coming in, we always look at the dynamics of the attack. I talked about earlier how the angles come, and how it will be straight, or circular. Well this one's a circular attack. I can move with him, and actually use that energy against him. It's almost a cliché in martial arts, or defensive tactics field to use an attacker's energy against them, but it's very true. As Daniel steps forward here, he's got a lot of energy, a lot of inertia moving through here. It's very difficult for him to reverse direction. If I use that against him, I can steal his balance very quickly. As Daniel comes in, I move with him. He's moving in a circle, I'll move in a circle. I become the center of the storm. He's here, now he's moving around me. I'm keeping this arm nice and close to my center, because that's where I'm strong. If you have a jelly jar or something that doesn't open, you don't hold it out here away from you. You bring it to where you're strong, and that's the principle of all of our motions like this. As he comes in, I draw this into my center. So let's take him down one time. Here we go. Take the knife away. Take off running. Now that's a good hooking defensive throw, from a hook attack."
