"Now as you can see I'm standing right here next to a tee. I know what some of you older guys are thinking. Eric I'm not in Tee ball anymore, why am I hitting off a tee? It's simple, think about it. When you have someone throwing at you. While they may be good, they cannot precisely pinpoint where they are going to throw the ball at all times. You can't just tell a guy, bury me inside all day. Throw nothing but inside pitches, throw nothing but outside pitches, throw nothing but balls up, throw nothing but balls down. He's you know from time to time going to slip up. You're going to be looking inside, he's going to throw something outside. Why do you have a tee? The ball doesn't move. You can set it up wherever you want. If I want to work on inside pitches. Alright, I put it just out in front of me. Boom, here we go. I'm working on an inside pitch. You want to work on hitting the outside pitch. There we go, working on the outside pitch. You want to work on a ball up. Just obviously slide it up a little bit. You want to work on the ball down, slide it down a little bit. Very useful training tool. I know everyone thinks they're big, they're tough, they don't need to use a tee, they used that when they were five and six years old. Tee's are absolutely the most important piece of training equipment when it comes to hitting. More important than BP anything like that. Because it allows you to segment your swing. You're allowed to walk through different steps, and you know you can just totally adjust everything from time to time. Just trying to get a feeling for what hitting an inside pitch, outside pitch, up, down, all that feels like. So here we go. I'll just hit a ball down the middle. So here we go. There we go. And that's hitting off the tee."
