"Hi I'm Ed Story on behalf of expertvillage.com my website is www.feather-craft.com fly fishing. This is such a simple but very effective little trout fly that we are simply going to make the body using the tying thread. I tied in to a jam knot now instead of moving from the rear of the hook is the most often do to tie a trout fly we are going to build up a red thread body to just behind the hook eye using the thread on the bobbin. Leaving room for a fly head and later we are going to apply the wing using a marabou plume. We are going to select a plume that we like this and using one plume we are going to blow it out so it fluffs out like this and take into our left hand, pull the feather fibers back off the plume that we are not going to use and at the same time measure the length of the feather and the plume so it meets the side that we are tying on. We want to extend the about a three quarter of a inch behind the hook bend. To mount the wing and this is called a wing this is a marabou plume we are just using the end of it. We have already measure it for length and I'm going to transfer to my left hand and we are going to clip away most of the waste with our first clip because our thread is in the right position to make a soft wrap over it, like in place, continue to make some hard wraps over it and stop and then we cut away the waste plum from the fly head. Simply marabou streamers that would catch trout anywhere in the world. We have clipped away most of the waste material, the balance of the waste material behind the fly head, we are going to cut over with the thread wraps and build up a rather large red fly head. "
