on 8/2/2008 you got it half right and half wrong man. catching your own airball is not travelling except for the NBA. you can also dribble as high as you want, over your head if you want as long as the palm of your hand is above the ball and you're not 'palming'.

"I'm going to be talking about beginning basketball. Now I'll be talking about the don'ts of dribbling when playing basketball and also this can create bad habbits that you don't want to do when doing basketball training. First you don't ever want to do palming, because palming is when you're dribbling a basketball and you dribble up under the basketball instead of not dribbling on top of the basketball and that is considered palming and they will call that traveling. Traveling is also when you're taking more than two steps when trying to score a basket or not taking no steps at all when trying to score bucket. Traveling is also when you shoot an air ball and you try to get your own air ball. Also you need to know that you can't dribble above your waist when dribbling a basketball cause that can also be considered traveling."
