" This is Don Daly representing expertvillage.com and in this clip we are going to demonstrating the Americana shoulder lock. So I have him in side control. Usually the guy is going to keep his arm under here where it is safe. Lets say he makes mistake and he puts it here or I grab his hand and I put it here okay, if he makes a bigger mistake to bring his hand up here I am going to take my left hand and grab his wrist. Okay I want to plant the left elbow down to his neck okay to keep him from turning in. We don’t want him turning in to grab his hand. Okay so we force him to the mat, elbow in position, take your right hand, come under the triceps and top of the wrist here. So we hold tight here, hold in tight here, what I want to do is I want to shrink it in meaning you want to pull his hand towards his head by turning my fingers down towards the mat, so we turn it in to make it nice and tight. Okay so if you turn in, it is tight then I take my arms in his elbows and slide it into his belt and I keep sliding until he taps. Okay painful shoulder lock. So again I have his arm here, grab with the left, elbow in the neck, come under the triceps, top of the wrist, thumb stays on top, I shrink it in by turning my fingers down towards the mat, make it tight, when I get it tight then I start to slide until he taps."
