"Hi! This is Don Daly representing expertvillage.com, and in this clip, we’re going to show a basic sweep from the guard. Okay, when you’ve got the opponent in the guard position. I have my guard lock on him. He decides to put his weight backwards. He wants to sit up a little bit. Perfect time for a sweep reason for the sweep is I’m going to hit him in the guard, but if I can get a better position I’m going to take it. So we’re going to sweep him from him being in my guard to me being in the mounted position. So in this scenario, foot down, hips out, up in the elbow. We’re going to cut this arm here. We’re going to come over the shoulder, grab this arm so he can’t put his arm out. We’re going to hold it tight. We go up on the hand; hips go high in the air. Hips up, we push him over and take the mounted position. You’re in guard position. He pushes his weight back; I feel him going backward. Foot out, I sit up, I come over his shoulder, grab his tricep. Hold tight. You can also grab the wrist if you want to, but it’s even better to put your hand down. We lift it up. You can’t just roll them over this way, hips need to go up, comes over the top. I have mounted position, I can work from here. "
