"Hi! This is Don Daly representing expertvillage.com, and in this clip, we’re going to show pulling the guard in jiu jitsu position. Tied up with your opponent. I feel he’s going to push me over or maybe take me for a sweep or take me down. I don’t want to be in that position so I choose to pull him my guard. When you pull someone the guard, basically you’re throwing your legs up around his waist and pulling him down. So we jump up, legs around, and we’re on the ground. Okay, guard position is good because I can control him wherever I want. I can push him, pull, move him around. It’s a good position to be in; sets up a lot of submissions. If we’re in a street fight and I have him in the guard, I can be punched. So he can sit up and punch me, so what I do is I pull him in with my legs, wrap them around his head, his arm, hold my head up tight. Now he goes to punch. Can’t, can’t head but, can’t move me. I wasted my move. Starts to move around, and take position. Again, the guard is good position, sets up a lot of submissions. He sets up, I can punch him, he starts punching me, I pull him in, hide my head, grab his head, back of the arm. He tries to punch, tries to head but. He can’t do much, wait for my move, scoot up."
